Wicker

Wicker went away from Exotan's garden furniture collection for a while, but is now back in a big way. It is a strong and low-maintenance material. Wicker is often combined with an aluminium, steel or teak frame. Below you can read exactly what wicker is and how best to maintain it.

High-quality wicker

Wicker is a fibre made of plastic. These fibres are woven into a strong and sturdy material. This high-quality wicker is woven around a frame as a seat. Wicker is low-maintenance and you can safely leave it outside the whole garden furniture season. Due to various weather influences, stains may appear during the season. We recommend removing these stains immediately. This can easily be done with warm water and soap. Stubborn stains can be removed with Exotan® Care textilene & wicker cleaner (ECP500). After cleaning, we recommend treating the wicker with Exotan® Care textilene & wicker protector (ECP700) to re-impregnate it. Read the instructions before use.

This protective layer can also fade due to various weather influences. We therefore recommend applying the protector to the cleaned wicker several times a year. This provides an extra UV filter and slows down the adhesion of dirt.

For an optimal result, use the Exotan® Care scrub pads (ECP450-P) for cleaning and the Exotan® Care application cloths (ECP456) for applying the protector.
