Wood

Wood is the most commonly used material in Exotan's garden furniture collection. Garden furniture made of wood has a natural and warm appearance. Exotan has different types of wood in the collection. It is important to know which wood your garden furniture is made of in order to use the right care products. Below you can read which types of wood the Exotan collection consists of.

Acacia

Acacia is a natural product. It is a hardwood species with a soft, warm colour. Due to various weather influences, stains and hairline cracks may appear in the wood during the season. This cannot be avoided and is seen as the charm of the wood. This does not affect the quality and construction of the product. In addition, the wood may discolour. This is inherent in acacia wood. Because acacia has a lower oil content than teak, this type of wood requires more maintenance. It is therefore important to maintain this type of wood properly. By regularly treating it with Exotan® Care hardwood oil (ECP900), the warm colour is preserved and the lifespan is extended. Before treatment, do not forget to clean the wood with Exotan® Care teak & bamboo cleaner (ECP250). Read the instructions before use.

For an optimal result, use the Exotan® Care scrub pad (ECP455-P) for cleaning and the Exotan® Care application cloths (ECP456) for applying a protective layer.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is a natural product and is characterised by its red-brown colour. Due to various weather influences, stains and hairline cracks may appear in the wood during the season. Teak

Teak is the most commonly used type of wood in Exotan's garden furniture collection. Teak is a natural product and is characterised by its warm, golden-brown colour. Due to various weather influences, stains and hairline cracks may appear in the wood during the season. This cannot be avoided and is seen as the charm of the wood. This does not affect the quality and construction of the product. In addition, the wood may discolour. This is inherent in teak. To protect the product against dirt and stains and to keep the warm teak colour longer, Exotan recommends treating the product immediately after purchase with Exotan® Care teak sealer (ECP300). To protect the product against dirt and stains, but slowly let it become evenly grey, Exotan advises to treat the product with the Exotan® Care teak protector (ECP320). Stubborn stains can be removed with the Exotan® Care teak & bamboo cleaner (ECP250). After cleaning, Exotan recommends protecting the product again with one of the above-mentioned protection products. Read the instructions before use.

For an optimal result, use the Exotan® Care scrub pads (ECP455-P) for cleaning and the Exotan® Care application cloths (ECP456) for applying a protective layer.
